Our trip to Chicago

Ethan's first plane ride on October 17 was to Chicago for Roy's annual ACVS conference. He did very well, and seemed fascinated that we were above the clouds!

Although he is almost done with "Binky" (usually only has it for naps and bedtime), we had to break it out for this trip since we didn't know what we had in store for us, or how he would react to the plane ride.

Happy to be out of the car seat!!
Roy was in conference all day Thursday, so Ethan and Mommy hit the streets!

View of Lake Michigan

Our view from the hotel room was of the river. So cool for Ethan who went running to the window screaming "boat! boat!" every time he heard a boat engine outside.

Ethan wasn't really into the Chicago deep dish pizza at Pizzeria Uno (silly boy...one day he will appreciate it I'm sure), but he seemed to enjoy the spaghetti!

Krump Park

Ethan seemed to be having a little cabin fever, so we decided to get out one morning and go to the park. It was one of the only chilly mornings we'd had this fall, so I was excited to put him in his new glow-in-the-dark Halloween shirt. We stayed at the park for about an hour, went to lunch and ran some errands. All the while, I was wearing an orange sticker on my butt that read "will glow in the dark when exposed to light"! No wonder everyone I met was being a little stand-offish! Tip of the day: Always check yourself in the mirror before going out in public!

Fall Fun!

After music class, Marcie and I took Joshua and Ethan to the Pole Green Market where they have a straw maze set up for the kids to play in. Thank goodness the straw was stacked short, or we probably would have lost someone!

I forgot my camera that day...thank you Marcie for some great pics!!

Hokie Homecoming!

On September 29th, Roy, Ethan and I went to the Virginia Tech homecoming game against UNC. Thanks to our friends Marnie and Bryan Head inviting us to be guests in their family's suite, we were able to take little man (which would have been impossible in the bleachers). Ethan had a great time playing with Blake and Emmerson and their cousin Rylan.
Our little instigator found some M&M's, and created an uprising amongst the ranks!

I think they're saying something to the effect of "Mommy wouldn't let us have any...will you, Daddy?"

-What a heartbreaker!!-

That's it Ethan, watch Daddy!!

-Ethan and his future wife (we hope:-))

The Hokies won! Hurray!
It was so nice to be back in Blacksburg again.
Hopefully we will be visiting Ethan there one day.
Hey, parents can have dreams too, can't they?

All tuckered out! What a fantastic day!

My budding photographer... you look through the other side of the camera, Ethan...oh well!

Snack time! Notice the dogs are never far away in case something edible hits the ground!
Elmo likes Yogos too!
