St. Pattie's Day

On St. Patrick's Day, I dressed Everett in the t-shirt I bought when Ethan was 13 months old.  It says "I'd rather be lucky than good".  It got lots of laughs.  Here, Ethan is blowing bubbles.  This was Everett's first experience with bubbles.  He was fascinated with them.

Mommy's helper!

The second-born is so tolerent, aren't they?  If someone had done this to Ethan at 10 months of age, he would have flipped out!

Everett's hitting so many milestones these days.  Here he is feeding himself with a spoon....always a messy ordeal, but hey, we're practicing here!

Here are the boys getting ready for bed at the hotel we stayed at for my Grandmother's funeral.  Everett didn't sleep well in the new surroundings, and all four of us shared a king sized bed...we all got maybe 3 hours sleep combined!
I want my crib!
Ready to go home!

Everett LOVES being outside, and we've had some pretty weather lately.  It's just tough trying to keep him from crawling in the mud and eating the grass in the yard.
Such a happy boy!
This owl flew into our yard one afternoon, and perched above us for about a half an hour...something I've never experienced before, and seemingly rare during the daylight hours!
we had such a beatiful sunset that evening, too.  I love being out in nature and taking in all of God's awesome creation!!

We'll never forget

At 12:30 this morning, Mammaw finally gave up her fight.  My mom was by her side when she took her last breath without struggle.  Thank God for hospice, as they were such a comfort to everyone involved.  It takes me back to my work as a social worker and bereavement counselor in hospice...but it's just so different when the "patient" is your own loved one.  All that "knowledge" goes out the window when it hits you close to home.
I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers for my grandmother and for the entire family.  It never ceases to amaze me how God shows us his love through the prayers of others, as I know there were countless people she never even knew talking to God about her!
Here is Mammaw holding Ethan for the very first time.  Ethan was 2 months old.

Four generations.

Ethan always had so much fun at "Great-Grandma Weezy's".
We'll miss her so much!

Ethan's classmate Ella had a birthday party at his favorite place--the Inflatable Palace.  Almost everyone from his preschool class was there, and he had SO MUCH FUN playing with his friends outside of school!

Ethan was so proud of his gift, he insisted she open it first.
Everett had a blast too!
Monday was such a beautiful day, we couldn't resist getting outside to play a little.  Now as I write this, only one day later, it's snowing....ARG!!  I'm so tired of snow.

...milliseconds prior to getting kicked in the face by a size 5!  I really would do anything for that perfect shot!

Bath time with big brother is Everett's favorite time of day!
Ethan wanted to help Daddy wash his truck, so I set up Everett in a booster seat and fed him some snacks.
