Our trip to Disneyland- October 2008

Mid-October, Roy had a conference in San Diego, California. Because we had promised Ethan he could see Donald Duck if he got potty trained before our trip, we had to hold up to our part of the bargain. Don't let us fool you....we had a blast too!

Ethan was in HOG HEAVEN!! So much to see and do!

Riding the Buzz Lightyear ride

Ethan was very patient waiting for the rides. He was so excited about everything, he never complained, even when we had to wait a half an hour or more!
riding the Nemo submarine ride

Race cars!

Pluto was Ethan's favorite character...he wouldn't stop hugging him to get a good picture!

Ethan really was excited to see Mickey...it was just about naptime, and he was feeling a little groggy. Never did have a nap, but who could sleep at Disney???

We had to almost twist Ethan's arm to ride the Dumbo flying elephants ride, but once he did, he got much more brave and wanted to ride some of the more exciting rides.

We stayed to watch the parade. It was well worth it. Ethan fell asleep at 8 pm, and slept through til almost 9am! We wore him out!

What a fantastic day! Ethan never got to see Donald up close, but thankfully he was on the last float in the parade....and we bought him a Donald Duck stuffed animal to make up for it.

Carter Mountain Orchard, Oct. 08

In early October, Roy, Ethan and I went to Carter Mountain Orchard in Charlottesville, VA to pick apples with our friends the Gray's. What a gorgeous day it was!!

Ethan and Ava have become such close buds!

Ethan really hit it off with Ava's brother Jacob! The kids had a blast

What a great day! Ethan talked about "apple pickin' " every day for a couple weeks. We will definitely be back to do it again!

October 2008

Just playing in the backyard on one of the last really warm days. Despite the grief Ethan gives them, the dogs really do love him!Aunt Jennifer, Uncle Joe, Joey and Jaclyn came to visit in early October on their way home from Myrtle Beach. Ethan LOVES visiting with his cousins!

-Ethan, Joey and Jaclyn-
After 2 weeks of staying at home for potty training, Ethan and I ventured out to the zoo for a day. We visited the bathroom about every 10 minutes, but Ethan really enjoyed getting out of the house for a day of fun! We rode the skylift (YIKES! Scary!) and took a train ride, but Ethan's favorite part of the day was feeding and petting this baby zebra. I literally had to drag him away! This was the first time the lions were active since we've been going to the zoo. Ethan wanted to stay there all day watching them!
We took a "train" ride...no potty accidents, despite the train breaking down for nearly an hour. Way to hold it Ethan!
