April blog catch-up

We got Ethan some gardening gloves in his size since he's been enjoying helping us so much in the yard lately. Of course he had to try them on as soon as we got home from the store.

When Jaden, Megan and Ethan saw that Toby was wearing a bib, they all wanted one too!

We've been anxiously awaiting the arrival of April 5 since Christmas. Ethan and I gave Roy a NASCAR driving experience for Xmas. He was scheduled to drive 4 laps with a professional driver, then 26 laps by himself, racing against other novices as fast as he can go. Needless to say we were excited. It was raining when we woke up, but we hadn't gotten a call, so off we went to the Richmond International Raceway. We drove right into the infield where several people along the way directed us...TOO COOL!!!! It was cancelled and rescheduled for August 16! Now we have to wait another 4 months!

We were still able to go to soccer practice despite Roy's NASCAR driving experience being rained out. Here, Ethan is "looking for aliens", the beginning to an exercise where the coaches pretend to be aliens in a spaceship, and the kids have to kick the ball and hit the aliens to "knock them out of the sky".

Last Monday, we went to the zoo. A nasty day weather-wise, but we pretty much had the whole zoo to ourselves...and the animals were moving around a lot, as it was cool, and close to feeding time when we were there.

Ethan could have stayed at the Tiger enclosure ALL day!










Roy feeds Tonka, Josie and some of their friends. He is pretty well acquainted with these guys since he did surgery on their buddy last year.












You can hear Ethan saying "Move it!", in reference to the song that the lemurs sing in the movie Madagascar.

Ethan and I went to Ikea with Holly, Megan, and Toby James and Jessica and Jaden Dodd last week. Ethan and Megan test out the furniture.

Ethan and I went to 3 Lakes Park with Joshua and Marcie Meighan last Thursday. It was at least 80 degrees!! We got some great shots of the boys...but then had to carry them 3/4 of the way around one of the lakes since it was getting close to naptime

Some blog catch-up-March

Haven't blogged for a couple weeks, so here's a hodgepodge of pics from the end of March to catch you up on what we've been doing. Ethan and I visited the James family during spring break week so that Ethan could play with all the kids (as usually during our visits, Emily and Lauren are in school). I had to snap these pictures since the flowers were in full bloom there!

Friday, Mar 28, Ethan and I went to a playdate at Marcie & Josh's house. Lisa and Gabriel came too, and we helped the boys "paint" sugar cookies with icing. Yummie craft, Marcie! Gabriel "painting"

The Aviation Museum at the Richmond Airport had a model train expo the last weekend in March. Ethan enjoyed being up close to the planes!

Here you can hear Ethan saying "look out Thomas!" He's been doing this in the car lately as well...as we approach an overpass, he says "look out Mommy!" and then lets out a playful scream as we go under. Who knows where they come up with these things?

There was a toddler play area where the kids could play with blocks and trains...nice since everything else was pretty much "hands off". E was pretty tuckered out by the end.
