The boys love helping Mommy and Daddy in the yard...especially if there's water involved!
Ethan was thrilled to find this tiny frog in the yard after it rained. He was NOT happy with mommy when I told him he couldn't bring it in the house and keep it as a pet!
Everett has begun to really love reading. For the longest time it seemed as though he had no interest, but all of a sudden he can't get enough of books. Like mother, like son!
Ethan got his red stripe belt...only one more before he moves on to the big boy class!
a day at the botanical garden
In the water again!
the butterflies seemed to be out in droves this summer. I loved taking pics of them every opportunity I got.

The boys love playing in the rain.
Busch Gardens
This day we went to Busch Gardens, there was a NASA exhibit, and since Ethan wants to be an astronaut when he grows up, he was really into all the hands-on activities and stuff they had there.
Ethan and Roy (front row, left) riding a really big water ride (I can't remember the name of it). Ethan was shaking and scared out of his wits after this big hill!
We ordered Ethan caterpillars, and watched them devolop into chrysalides, and then emerge as butterflies...a process that took a couple weeks. When the butterflies came out, we were able to keep them several days, feeding them sugar water, and interacting with them til they were ready for release. I truly thought that the day we released them would be traumatic for him, but my big boy amazed me once again when his face lit up with delight as this one flew away!
carnations obviously don't smell very good to Everett!
We had a very hot summer this year. I got tired of doing things indoors, and we decided to meet friends at Crump Park one afternoon, despite the heat.
