Everett

May 11, 2009
Getting prepped for my C-section. Ethan got to stay in the surgery prep room the entire time. He was so excited he was going to see his baby brother soon!

Ethan was very upset when they wheeled me out of the prep room and into surgery.
Ethan and Grandma were able to follow Everett to the nursery immediately after delivery to see his first bath. Evelyn tells us Ethan was very concerned about how red his baby brother was. Everett's hair is red too!!! We are such lucky brunettes to have 2 redheaded boys! Of course Grandma is proud, since they get their red hair from her.

I stayed by myself in the hospital at night so that Roy could be with Ethan at home. Roy said that Ethan talked about his baby brother constantly, and couldn't wait for mommy and Everett to come home.
Ethan was so gentle with Everett, "petting" him and giving him lots of kisses.Ethan wearing Everett's hat

What is that?

May 2009

I wasn't able to go to the NASCAR race in May (stadium seats at 9months pregnant...I think not!!). However, Ethan and I did go to the park to tailgate with everyone. Ethan had so much fun, I think he'll want to go tailgating every time we go to a race. Here are Ethan and our friend Jeff swinging at the playground.

Roy's early father's day gift was a grill. He loves it and cooks on it at least 3 times a week....who's gift was that anyway. Seems like I'm winning out on that one!

Ethan and Roy putting together my mother's day present--adirondak chairs

The greatest Mother's Day ever! One day before baby day..

May 11, 2009--baby day!!! Three hours prior to the baby arriving, Ethan decided he was going to "get that baby out" using his play power saw. I guess we gave him too much information about the c-section!

April 2009

We love the Children's Museum of Richmond! So many creative things to do there!

Ethan actually wasn't freaked out by the Easter Bunny this year!

relaxing with Daddy.

dying Easter eggs

Ethan enjoyed hunting for Easter eggs so much that we hid them for him continuously all day. Sam ate the real eggs, so by the end of the day we only had the plastic ones left, and pastel doggie poo in our yard for about 3 days!

They're baaaack! Every spring our yard is OVERRUN with caterpillars. This was the first one of the season, and oh was Ethan glad to see their return!

March 09

The big snow brought us a total of 9 inches! Ethan played in it for 3 days....good thing because we're pretty sure we won't see that kind of snow around here for a long time!

We decided to pull up the carpet in the bedrooms upstairs and lay hardwood flooring. Here Ethan is helping Daddy in the nursery. I helped as much as I could being 7 months pregnant, but Roy really did it all himself. It turned out beautiful!!

We took a little trip to Aunt Jennifer's the end of March. Here Ethan admires Joey's hermit crab.
Ethan joined the Little Gym, and once a week gets to romp and tumble with other kids his age.
His favorite part of the whole thing is playing on the bars.
