A day at Lewis Ginter

In July, Ethan and I went to the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden with Lisa & Gabriel Owen, and Marcie & Joshua Meighan. Ethan loved the water-play area.

Thanks Marcie for this picture...

....and this one!

Ethan enjoyed climbing this tree, and now wants to climb every tree he sees.

this is as close to a posed picture as we could get with 3 active toddler boys!

okay, all you moms and dads out there...on a hot summer day, give your kid an ice cream treat with a STICK !!!!

A trip to New Jersey

It took over 2 years, but we FINALLY made it to New Jersey to visit with our family in June! Ethan had fun playing with his cousin Nathan, but had to get several stern talks from Mommy about sharing (ah, yes, the dreaded four letter word, "mine" has reared its ugly head!)

Waiting with Grandpa for a train ride through the park

Rachel's cousin, Jill and her husband, Ythan with Nathan

Man, Ethan was all excited to see a carosel with animals other than horses!! Now any time he rides a carosel, he asks for the "kitty with fish in mouth!"

Ethan and Nathan take a break in the shade while visiting the zoo.

Rachel and JaclynBy the last day of our visit, Ethan and Nathan had become pals, and saying goodbye would prove to be heartbreaking!

another day at KD

Kings Dominion has become our fun get-away place this summer. Thanks to the season passes we got for Christmas from the Suess family, and the fact that it's only 10 minutes away from our house, we have been able to enjoy going for just an hour or two at a time! On this particular day, Ethan wanted to try lots of new things. We went up in the Eiffel tower to check out a bird's eye view of the park.

Ethan decided that he wanted to ride a water ride for the first time. See that big hill in the distance? I was worried that he would be scared, but after we did it, he shouted, "again, again!"

He also wanted to try the big carosel for the first time. Loved that too!

Ethan won a monkey stuffed animal, and we stopped here to have his caracature drawn.

Showing off his muscles with Scooby Doo

What a fun day! He crashed hard when we got to the car though!

Beating the heat

Ethan loves the water so much, and if it were up to him, we'd just live at the pool!

Ethan is really taking off with swimming this year. Just the other day, he swam for the first time without us helping him! Of course the floaty vest helps alot!

A trip to Aunt Jen's

In June, we went to visit Aunt Jen, Grandma Pomeroy, and Ethan's cousins, Joey and Jaclyn. Ethan was a little handful, and even though we had a great time and did some fun things, I seemed to be struggling with one temper tantrum after the next. I think I miss Binky more than Ethan does!
We went to Hershey, PA to Hershey's Chocolate world, where you can learn everything you wanted to know about chocolate....and then some! Such a cool place....they even pumped the scent of chocolate into the facilities. YUM!

Ethan ready to view his first 3-D movie

Ethan begged us to let him hold Jaclyn. He was so gentle with her, and loved being close to her. Such a precious moment!

Ethan and Joey never run out of fun things to do....I still have no idea how they crammed themselves into this tiny dog crate!

A sweet moment with Sam and Sierra at home.....Sam's getting so gray!
